75 times , 2024

She had gone to the sea 75 times
so many were the pebbles she had collected.
Now she doesn't even greet me
her orange windbreaker
covered on her head
orange.
She held her breath until I returned.
With hurried, sharp eyes around her, she shook her mind.

Her skeletal hands closed her eyes in front of me.
Exactly these bony fingers
once perhaps drew
beautiful homes of the rich.
She wishes she won’t return
she drove endlessly to a pier
she neutralized herself
while hating everyone else.
She would go across
without our will.
They offered
instead of her
to send the children from the group.
I wait for her
on the coldest island I knew.
We are doomed
to be placed in the freezer
pure white empty gaps.

Frozen vastness
with injectable preservatives.
It’s not that easy for us
the landscape changes
shiny ice spreads like a carpet
I’m afraid they’ll find me
they’ll send me to the room with the snowstorm.
Since I am useless too
